About Me and my Art
I was born and raised in Mesa, AZ. I have lived there most of my life. I'm 33 years old, a busy mom of three great kids and also a homemaker.
I think everyone should be able to have beautiful environments with original art to enrich their lives. I create art because it's a natural extension of who I am. I'm really being myself when creating something. I've been drawing most of my life and painting and selling my art since 1999.
I don't like to confine myself to limited techniques, materials, styles or subjects. If I am wanting to try something new, I do it. In this way, I allow myself to be truly creative. For this reason, I have several styles I like to work in. A favorite is the Single Line Style. Some people call them single line paintings or line paintings. Others, have called them maze paintings because they've said that they have a maze like quality to them.
I've worked with this technique for a long time and have ammassed a lot of works within the Single Line Series. The desired image is made up of a single continuous line turning in and around on itself until the object is completely filled in or made up. In many pieces, the line never crosses over itself. Some of the the totally abstract works do have the line cross over. A lot of the time, the line is kept to the same thickness, but not always. Some have the line changing colors and others, not. I don't confine myself to a box. I want to explore all that can done with the line. In all of them, there is a consistency with the line throughout the piece. The intent, or rule ot the line, in each work is obvious to the viewer. The subjects have a broad range from representational to wildly abstract. Many people like to find the two ends of the line. In the totally abstract works, it's quite entertaining to find images within the makeup of the line- like seeing things when looking at clouds. This is a favorite game my children and I play together.
